Can you believe it actually snowed in Alberton in August?! Yesterday this time I was jokingly passing along the weather forecast that it may snow in Alberton today (obviously not believing a word of it, and it truly snowed in Alberton…

I remember a few years ago there were also rumours that it would snow in Johannesburg (which we didn’t really pay any attention to) and woke up the next morning with the world covered in white (approx 10cm’s deep) I realize that it’s not a lot of snow but considering that it doesn’t snow in Alberton, it was amazing!
Thing is we never had the privilege of seeing the snowflakes falling but today we did, over and over. It completely mesmerized me every time the snowflakes started floating lazily from the sky, it’s something I’ll never forget
I was so excited when it came down in ‘droves’ that I got onto the roof and took a video: click on this link to see the video

It’s also given me time to reflect on my blessings and be grateful for being able to share this phenomena of nature with loved ones and having a roof over my head and warm food to fill my tummy…
